Ocean Engineering Program: Minimum Computer Requirements

As part of the Ocean Engineering program, students will need to bring their own laptops
to several classes. The most demanding software used in the program is Autodesk Fusion
for CAD, so it's important to choose a laptop that meets these requirements.
Operating System
We strongly recommend purchasing a laptop that runs Windows (not MacOS), as the Windows operating system is better suited for the engineering
applications you will use throughout the program.
Additional Notes
- Students will have access to Microsoft Office through the university at no additional cost, so there is no need to purchase your own copy.
- A mouse is required for CAD work, as it allows for much more precise control than a trackpad.
Please make sure your laptop meets these minimum requirements to ensure you can successfully
